My partner reads mysteries voraciously - starting at the authors whose last name begins with A through whomever is last on the shelf. I've noticed that she's brought home some books by Joanne Fluke. Today while searching for "murder, banana" on Google, I ended up at Joanne's site. Hysterical what you can do when cooking is a feature of your books -- from titles to website.
Oh, if you're wondering why I was searching for those two words, it's because my book has a murder by banana in it. The link will take you to a page which talks about the reaction of readers.

Three Cheers for PBS
Thank God for PBS. In particular, thanks for our local station WYCC in Chicago. Over the New Year's weekend we were treated to a two-day mystery marathon. Believe it or not, by 6 o'clock the first evening, we weren't sure we could watch another one!
They showed some traditional stuff like Marple, Lynley and Rumpole. But they also included two of our new favorites: Rosemary and Thyme, and An Unsuitable Job for a Woman.

Wisdom and Diplomacy

I really enjoy the PBS series "As Time Goes By" with Judi Dench and Geoffrey Palmer.
The other night Jean was trying to convince Sandy to talk with Lionel about his apparent deafness. Sandy replied to her, "Surely, since wisdom and diplomacy come with, uh, maturity, you ..."
Jean replied tersely, "Mine haven't come yet."
If you haven't seen the series, check this link from the BBC.
